Continuing with INKY after your trial

Continuing with INKY is a conversation with your Kaseya representative, not a checkout page. The console's job is to start that conversation.

Telling us you want to continue

On the trial Home page, beside the day counter, is Contact sales.

Pressing it sends a request to the team that handles your account. It does not buy anything, does not change your trial, and does not commit you. The button then reads Request sent, so you can see it went.

Someone will get in touch. If you have not heard back within a few days, chase it through the Kaseya helpdesk at helpdesk.kaseya.com. A request that goes quiet is a mistake on our side, not a queue you have to wait out.

You can also go straight to your Kaseya representative at any point. The button exists because not everyone knows who that is.

You do not have to wait for the end date

If you have seen enough by day ten, say so on day ten. Running the clock down buys you nothing, and starting early leaves room to sort out bundle and user counts without a deadline in the way.

What to have ready

The conversation goes faster with three things settled.

  • How many mailboxes you want protected. Not how many you protected during the trial. The number you would run in production. INKY is licensed per user, and Understanding INKY Billing covers how users are counted.

  • Which bundle. If your trial did not include account takeover detection, DMARC checks or signatures, and those matter to you, say so. They are a tier question. See INKY Email Security Bundles.

  • Whether you want outbound routed. Signatures and account takeover detection both need it, and it is a routing change better planned than retrofitted.

What happens to your configuration

Nothing you set up during the trial is throwaway. Your domains, groups, allow and block lists, spam settings, VIP list, banner branding and signature templates are ordinary INKY configuration and they carry straight over.

That is why doing the setup properly on day one beats treating the trial as a sandbox.

As the end date approaches

INKY emails the trial administrator as the end date gets close. About a week out, a few days out, and on the final day. The band across the top of the console changes color over the same period.

In the last stretch, Home also carries a panel above the checklist. It says how long is left, what happens next, and what to do about it. It is the one place all three are stated together, so read it rather than working the dates out from the counter.

If you need longer to finish an evaluation, because a stakeholder was away or setup ate the first week, ask. Your Kaseya representative handles extensions, and the counter shows Includes your one extension once one has been applied.

What happens on the end date

Nothing switches off the moment the trial ends. INKY keeps analyzing your mail for a short window past the end date, so a decision that runs a few days late does not leave your staff unprotected in the gap.

Read the date off the console rather than counting. Home states the day protection actually stops, and the end-of-trial email quotes the same date. That window is a cushion for the conversation, not an extension of the trial, and it is not something to plan around.

If you decide not to continue

Tell your Kaseya representative, and tell us why. A trial that ends in no is a useful outcome, and the reason is worth more to us than the decision.

To remove INKY from a tenant, see Offboard and Uninstall a Client. If you have questions about what happens to your mail flow when INKY is removed, raise them with the helpdesk before you start. The uninstall reverses the routing changes made at install, and it goes better planned than rushed.
