Analysis - INKY

Enable Upstream Spam Classification

Toggle on (default): INKY labels mail as "Spam Content" when Microsoft or Google already classified it as spam. Severe cases get labeled "Phishing Content."

Toggle off: Use this if you have a different upstream spam filter (not EOP/Google) and want to ignore Microsoft/Google classifications.

Applies to: Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Enable INKY's Spam Engine

Toggle on (default): INKY runs its own spam analysis independent of upstream results.

Toggle off: Use this if relying entirely on a different upstream provider for spam filtering.

INKY Spam Sensitivity

Controls how aggressively INKY's own spam engine classifies mail. Choose from nine levels:

  • Extremely sensitive - More mail labeled as spam (fewest false negatives)

  • Average sensitivity - Balanced approach (default)

  • Least sensitive - Less mail labeled as spam (fewest false positives)

Recommendation: Start with "Moderately less sensitive" or "Average sensitivity" and adjust based on user feedback about missed spam or false positives.

Common Configurations

Standard setup (most organizations):

  • Both toggles enabled

  • Sensitivity at "Average" or "Moderately less sensitive"

Using third-party spam filter:

  • Disable upstream classification

  • Enable INKY's engine at desired sensitivity

  • Or disable both if handling spam entirely upstream
